Description
Third Reich Chained SS Dagger – Maker: Robert Klaas, Solingen
This original Third Reich Chained SS Dagger is a superb and highly sought-after example of the iconic edged weapon carried by members of the Schutzstaffel (SS) during the late 1930s and early years of the Second World War. Produced by the prestigious Solingen blade manufacturer Robert Klaas, this dagger exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive design associated with Germany’s renowned blade-making centre.
The nickel-plated crossguards and pommel exhibit fine detailing and remain in excellent condition, displaying only light patination consistent with age. The ebony grip is perfectly shaped and bears the inlaid SS runes badge and eagle insignia, both firmly set and showing minimal wear. The blade itself retains its bright factory polish and crisp acid-etched motto “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” (“My Honour is Loyalty”), a defining inscription of SS blades.
This example is fitted with the Type II chained scabbard, featuring the correct nickel-plated fittings and the distinctive skull and SS rune links on the chain. The black anodised scabbard body remains straight and undamaged, with strong original finish intact throughout. Both reverse and inside fittings bear correct assembly marks, fully consistent with original Klaas production methods.
As a complete and untouched example by Robert Klaas, Solingen, one of the most respected SS dagger makers, this Chained SS Dagger represents an exceptional collector’s piece. It is a textbook specimen for those seeking an authentic, investment-grade example of a Third Reich SS dagger in outstanding condition.
This dagger is a historical artefact from the era of the Third Reich. It is described here for educational and documentary purposes only. No political or ideological significance is attached to its sale or study
