Deactivated 1942 MG34 GPMG — Authentic WWII German Machine Gun
This professionally deactivated MG34 GPMG is an authentic example of the legendary German World War II general-purpose machine gun. Permanently rendered non-firing to current UK specifications, it retains its original markings, patina and construction — offering a safe and legal display piece for collectors, museums, re-enactment groups, or as a high-quality film and theatre prop.
A Brief History of the MG34
Introduced in 1934, the Maschinengewehr 34 (MG34) was the world’s first true general-purpose machine gun (GPMG). Designed by Heinrich Vollmer, it was intended to replace several specialist weapons by fulfilling multiple battlefield roles — from a light machine gun with a bipod to a sustained-fire heavy weapon when mounted on a tripod.
The MG34 was chambered in 7.92×57mm Mauser and could achieve a remarkable rate of fire of up to 900 rounds per minute. Its versatility, reliability, and superb engineering made it the backbone of the German Wehrmacht during the early years of the Second World War. Although later supplemented by the MG42, the MG34 remained in service throughout the conflict and influenced post-war designs worldwide.
Owning a deactivated MG34 allows collectors to preserve a tangible connection to this pivotal moment in military history — a weapon that defined modern automatic firepower.
